Chapter 01
Why the factory paint code is not enough
This is the single thing most shops get wrong, and in Texas it gets them wrong faster. Ultraviolet light shifts and flattens a finish over years. A silver from 2016 is not the silver that silver was in 2016.
So a panel sprayed straight from the factory code will be technically correct and visibly wrong. It reads as a slightly brighter, slightly cleaner rectangle sitting in the middle of a car that has aged. Owners notice it immediately even when they cannot say why.

Mixing, spraying out, adjusting
We mix to the code as a starting point, spray a test card, and hold it against your actual panel in daylight. Then the blend gets adjusted until the card disappears against the car.
On the vehicle itself, color is blended out into the adjacent panels rather than stopped hard at a panel edge, so there is no line for the eye to catch. The car goes back together only after the finish has properly cured, not the same afternoon because the bay is needed.
